What is Ddos Attacks?
Well ddos attacks are Denial Of Service and what this does is a user can grab your ip and use there cmd command prompt on their pc, to send huge smount of constant packets to your ip address causing your router to slow down or boot offline, if you get these they are temporary and will wear off as soon the user whos doing it, stops.
How do you protect yourself?
Well youll need a router, in your router you are required to click a tab/setting called Firewall, this also depends on it's ui and organization ui and you'll see a option or checkbox called: Ddos (Denial Of Service) Attack Protection) this will prevent huge unwanted packets back to the person who his ddosing you and basically ddos them the packets back preventing your internet being slow. (Depending on your router this feature may not be available in some routers)
does This Forum protect our ip from ddos attacks?
No it doesn't, due to the lack of funds to upgrade proboards has given all visitors and members ip to the public allowing yoyr ip exposed, use a app or extension to keep you anonymous if you arent a member
How Badly can this effect us?
Ddosing somebody else is a nation eide federal crime as well this is used ather to troll or plainly use it for evil for streamers, gamers, etc even can expose personal info, be sure yo stay safe.
How can we prevent users to get a accurate ip?
In your router you should see a option or checkbox in firewall that says block pings this tells the router to stop other pc or devices/sites to obtain your ip or accurate ip snd only allows devices in the local network to send pings out and neccary pings in when needed, instead of using other devices to ping off of.
